The Kaluga Branch trains engineers and managers for industrial enterprises. KB BMSTU offers studying programmes leading to Bachelors and Masters degrees, Diploma of Engineer, PhD across a wide portfolio of subjects. The Kaluga Branch has 6 faculties. Highly-skilled, dedicated academic staff and modern technical equipment and devices provide high quality professional teaching. There are more than 200 scientific laboratories, which help students to extend their knowledge as well as to improve their skills in operating computers and instruments. Most laboratories are equipped with state -of - the art computers and devices.

The Kaluga Branch academic staff comprises 6 academicians, 8 corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Science, more than 40 Doctors of Science and 200 Candidates of Science (PhD). The ability of the staff to provide our students with excellent study and appropriate research culture helps to maintain a high teaching environment in higher education.

The Kaluga Branch offers a distinctive approach to education by combining the academic studies with fundamental and applied researches and design and experimental works. In studying process software package, virtual laboratories and on-line materials are included. A wide range of software is available on each chair, giving students the opportunity to do their home tasks and research work. The computers are fully-networked throughout the University and soon will have connections to BMSTU.
